This is a device that is connected to your critical border devices that support serial logging. All remote system logs are logged out of band via an attached serial cable. The benefit of this is collecting all logs in one central place without congesting your network bandwidth. Used in conjunction with the PakMON software we can determine who is accessing your network and when. Combining the logs, we can see distributed attacks against your network.
